I compose music. (That pretty much sums it up, but I’ll add some details.)

I’ve done quite a bit of scoring (film, TV, spoken word) – I love the work and I’m always looking for more. (There’s a cache of mp3s below and a resume on this site somewhere.) I also work as an orchestrator (love the activity) and an arranger (love that too). I’ve arranged or orchestrated for Chicago (great gig, love the band!), Quincy Jones, Barbra Streisand, Whitney Houston, Elmer Bernstein, Mike Post, Ann-Margret and … oh trust me, it’s a long, long list. My music has been in over 100 TV shows, I don’t know how many radio shows and about 20 films including Reservoir Dogs, Night Falls on Manhattan, Naked Gun 2 1/2, She Devil, Seven, and All the Right Moves. I couldn’t begin to count the radio and TV commercials.

Musically, my background is Classical. I’ve never stopped composing in that genre and right now I have over 60 completed pieces. I sometimes compose by hand (my right hand if you’re interested) and other times on the computer – it works either way for me. My studio is at the foot of some lovely hills north of Los Angeles. For producing music I use Digital Performer and for notation I use Finale and Sibelius. (There’s a complete list of technical details below.)

These days, the creating I enjoy the most is what I’ve always enjoyed the most: composing for films, arranging, and composing Classical music. I guess the only thing I’ve added to that list is conducting and what a thrill that is!
