SONATINA for PIANO Solo Piano Length is 7:00 - 8:00 A very bright, energetic and sometimes athletic piece. Several pianists have told me it’s not as difficult as I think it is. Perhaps so, but I do know this: it sounds incredibly difficult! Compositionally, there’s a good percentage that is in just two parts – sort of like a Bach Invention – which is why there a little tribute to him about two-thirds of the way through. What I do is take my themes and treat them as he would have. (At least as I believe he would have.)
